The money in your IRA is your money. Every cent you put into that IRA was hard-earned, and if you really think about it, its not growing fast enough. Whats worse, youre a few years away from retirement. Can you really bear the thought of NOT retiring in comfort?
Two realities are in play here: first, the stock markets lackluster performance that started in 2000, and second, the real estate boom that had developers scampering for land to satisfy the heightened demand for residential and commercial real estate.
Put your IRA money to work. Your banker and broker will not allow you room to maneuver because they want complete visibility and control over your IRA. In the meantime, theyre earning fantastic returns on your money. Its time you take the drivers seat.
Fundamentally, what do you need?
Sufficient funds in your self-directed IRA.

Big Brother is entering the half-way stage so here is a short round-up of five of the remaining nine established characters and how they fair in the betting market.
Aisleyne
Current Odds: 20/1
Aisleyne was voted into the house next door but will return to the main compound which will shock the other housemates as they thought they had got rid of her and her constant singing of hip hop songs that nobody has heard of. Aisleyne is the strongest female character but her fake ghetto speak and snapping at the other housemates will see her up for eviction more often than not. The House Next Door twist will see Aisleyne vote out four of the five new housemates, although they will actually be moved into the main house and face her when she returns herself. There could be a tricky few weeks in store for the promotions girl and aspiring pop star.
Imogen
Current Odds: 50/1
Imogen has been a disappointment and her character in the house is just a female version of Mikey. Dull, boring and nothing like the real-life serial footballer dater the tabloids would have us believe. Until recently, the only screen time she enjoyed was

Call it what you will: a mower, mover, cultivator or grader. The list of names can go on and on, but in reality, this machine is your tractor, and, depending on the attachments you use, it can transform into almost any kind of heavy-duty outdoor tool you want. The key is finding the right attachments.
“Attachments are the arms and legs that essentially give versatility and functionality to your tractor. When you match the right tractor with the right attachments, you have an invaluable multipurpose tool that makes outdoor chores go faster, and better yet, more enjoyable,” explains Dan Paschke, from John Deere Commercial and Consumer Equipment Division. To help people match attachments with needs, Paschke provides answers to some frequently asked questions:
Q: With so many attachments available, how do I decide what I really need?
A: Your dealer can be an excellent resource. Some factors to consider are:
• Tasks: What do you want to do with your tractor?
• Speed: How fast do you want to operate?
• Space: Consider storage space and if you will be working around any obstacles.
Q: How does my choice of tractor factor into my choice of attachments?
A: The

Sometimes you find yourself in a situation when you have to scan paper prints, negatives or slides and store them as digital photos on your computer. Although the reason for doing that can vary there are some common considerations to scanning paper prints. In this article we will go over some of them and try to make your scanning experience easier.
There are three types of prints that you might be scanning:
Paper prints: the most common, usually at sizes like 4X6 and 5X7.
Negatives: also known simply as film. This is the processed film usually 35mm from which paper prints are made.
Slides: very similar to negatives used for projecting photos on a large screen.
Scanning paper photos prints.
Photo paper prints are easy to scan. You can choose to scan them yourself at home (purchasing a scanner that can do the job is usually cheap and costs less than a $100). You can also choose to mail them (or hand them) to a professional scanning service that will scan them for you and mail you back the originals and a DVD with the digital scans (such services include www.digmypics.com, www.digitalpickle.com, www.britepix.com and many more)

When it first became possible to listen to recorded music, the notion of being able to do so on the move probably seemed a little ridiculous. Though the transition from the type of music appreciation that necessitated the presence of the performers in the same room as the listeners to that which required only a gramophone to enjoy must have been a strange one, music remained, back then, a form of entertainment. And while there is little doubt that the music we listen to today brings us enormous pleasure, it has adopted a new position in our lives. Music is now the accompaniment to our lives, following us from home to office to store. And with the technical innovations of recent years, we can now take it with us to all the places in between.
Portable music first became available to the masses with the mass marketing of the cassette tape Walkman. This allowed consumers take their favorite music with them when they went about their daily business, and quickly became a huge success. It is, in fact, the consumer enthusiasm for music in general that has spurred on the technological advancements that have created portable music systems

Miracles happen. This is a miracle story about what happens when we look for the lesson in every situation. After all, business and personal success is about attitude, overcoming adversity, and successfully managing change as well.
It was Easter, March 31, 2002 and I was on a hiking vacation with my husband in a California desert near where we lived. Our baby daughter, Caroline, was supposed to have been born on this date, but there were complications with the pregnancy and we lost her five months earlier on October 30. Three weeks later in November, we had put my 18 -year-old cat, Baby, to sleep. Needless to say, with all this adversity we needed a vacation.
It was now late October, 2002, and we were living in Atlanta, Georgia. Wed been contemplating adopting a dog, yet it didnt seem right with our travel schedules. My husband was an airline pilot, and I was an international speaker. Still, I walked into an animal shelter having convinced myself I would just look. In the shelter was a calm, sweet-faced puppy, eight or nine weeks old, who caught my attention. Sensing our chemistry and trust, I did what

When shopping for a pair of hiking boots, it is important to know how they are made. No, you don’t need to know how to make your own, but you have to understand what goes into them and how it affects the comfort and durability – the overall quality – of the hiking boots. In this article I will describe the parts of a hiking boot, what they are made of, and how they come together to form the ideal hiking boot for you.
Like any shoe, a hiking boot consists of an upper and a sole joined together by a welt and with an inlet at the front covered by a tongue, and the whole is lined with various pads and cushions. I will discuss each of those parts in detail, in terms of what they are made of and what to look for in various types of hiking boots.
Sole and Welt
Let’s start at the bottom. The soul of the hiking boot is the sole.
Soles are usually made of synthetic rubber in varying degrees of hardness. A harder sole will last longer, but generally will have poorer traction on hard surfaces (such as bare

If you’re in the market for a business opportunity, the chances are good that you’ve explored a variety of ways to make money online and work from home. In truth, there are so many Internet business opportunities out there that it’s almost impossible to tell the best from the rest. And the grim reality is that, while thousands of people launch online businesses in the hope of achieving financial freedom, the majority end up making very little money at all, or worse, paying out more money to their uplines than they’re ever able to recoup.

The root of the current crisis of undocumented immigration is a fundamental disconnect between today’s economic and labor market realities and an outdated system of legal immigration.
Undocumented immigration is driven in large part by a U.S. labor market that is creating a higher demand for less-skilled workers than is being met by the native-born labor force or by the current legal limits on immigration.
As the past decade and a half of failed federal border-enforcement efforts make clear, immigration policies that ignore these larger economic forces merely drive migration underground rather than effectively regulate it.
In short, there is an unsustainable contradiction between U.S. economic and immigration policy, with economics winning. The problem.is a broken immigration system that sends the dual messages “Keep Out” and “Help Wanted” to foreign workers.
The U.S. economy continues to create large numbers of less-skilled jobs even as native-born workers grow older and better educated and are increasingly unavailable to fill such jobs.
Yet the federal government continues to impose outdated numerical caps and other restrictions on immigration that bear little relationship to the economic realities of our time.
As a result, enforcement resources are devoted in large part to trying
